We’ve made it through the front. It lasted longer last night than I thought when I wrote. By midnight we were motoring with the mainsail and continued that configuration until daylight. It was a long slow upwind slog through big confused seas in 25-30 knots. We all took turns on watch or sleeping. Even Peter took a turn (under the dodger where he could keep his hand dry) with Leo. Now that day has dawned we have partly cloudy skies, with occasional squally clouds. Fortunately we’ve dodged the squalls so far. The wind is still northeast, but down to 18-20. We’ll get to Bermuda around 1300 where Bermuda Radio will have a cab to take Peter to the emergency room.

We’ll update you when we know anything more.

    Pete,

Of course I hope all is well–thanks to Jake and Marny for turning back. I honestly know it’s a tough call.
Didn’t Dad tell you to keep your knives dull!
Had a good deal yesterday at Open Studios–The fellow who owns the hardwood shop in Enfield brought over a package of hand-selected bird-seye, etc and he and his wife did their Christmas shopping.

I see a couple of nice live edge serving boards coming out of your blister maple. (Perfect for Park Avenue, NYC next weekend, says Meb)

Good luck and good sunrises, Tom
